Guest AndyHancock Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 c:\NAVOPTX.DAT contains these two lines: [NSPlugin] Enabled=0 The file sounds like a Norton antivirus (NAV) file. Since I no longer use NAV, I'd like to remove it. However, web searching doesn't turn up any confirmation that it is a NAV file. Any suggestions? Quote

However, I'm not sure how much of the file- naming conventions are inheritted by Firefox or Thunderbird, so I didn't use that as a rationale for deleting it, either. Quote

Windows version? After uninstalling NAV and LiveUpdate via Add/Remove Programs, you also need to download/run the... I wonder why in the heck it's so hard to develop a proper uninstall. Thanks. Looks like a job for another day (considering task list today). Quote

(Shouldn't take more the 5 minutes, start to finish.) Norton applications have always been notorious for not uninstalling cleaning and needing a Removal Tool to get rid of all the leftovers. Quote
