Hello -

I´m experimented problems when I try change the local timezone of my windows

vista machine. I´m at Brazil and the DST is not static every year it is

changed by president. So When I try edit it using the timexone.exe too.....

using the syntax... timezone.exe /s 02:0:1:11 02:0:3:02, I got the message "

Access denied".

Please cousl you help solved it?

Thanks}

timezone.exe is an ancient (ten years or so) application. It was almost

certainly never tested with Vista.

Based on what little I remember, it tries to change some areas of the

registry that ordinary users do not have access to. Try launching an elevated

command prompt and run the tool from there to see if it works. I would be

willing to bet that it does not use the new APIs that permit ordinary users

to change the time zone.
