Guest bardharlock Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Can I run, or am I supposed to run Windows Defender if I am using the Live Care One Firewall already? Quote

After all, the two products serve completely separate functions, with no overlap, whatsoever. (However, you'd be better protected if you were to get rid of the Live Care One Firewall and use Vista's built-in one.) -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375 They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. ~Benjamin Franklin Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do. ~Bertrand Russell The philosopher has never killed any priests, whereas the priest has killed a great many philosophers. ~ Denis Diderot Quote

A firewall application and an anti-malware application are two entirely separate things and serve completely different purposes. -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375 They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. ~Benjamin Franklin Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do. ~Bertrand Russell The philosopher has never killed any priests, whereas the priest has killed a great many philosophers. ~ Denis Diderot Quote

The default action on installing OneCare is to disable Defender and the Windows firewall. Tom Quote

One certainly wouldn't want to rely solely upon One Care.
