Guest mikeyhsd Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 you need to download and run the uninstaller from NORTON web site. install a different virus program and then you should be able to activate the firewall. mikeyhsd@sprintpcs.com "Robz" <Robz@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:27FA6CBD-DE87-4F5B-855E-96B31FEDBF37@microsoft.com... Guest Robz Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Thanks guys, i will try to. If it dosnt work, ill go with another Firewall application. Quote
Guest Chappy Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I know this is a little old, but just in case you still monitor it....it's probably because the Firewall service has been set to Disabled that it won't start. Open Control Panel, Admin Tools and the Services. Scroll to Windows Firewall Service and see if it's set to Auto start. If not, dbl-clk the service or right click and elect Properties, then in the "Startup Type" dropdown list, select Automatic. Now click Start the Service and see what happens.
