i want to use the Windows firewall now. So its deactivated. Well then i just

click Activate or Turn on. Well it says: "Windows Firewall could not be

started" And i have no idea on how to get it start again. Would be nice with

some help.

Uninstall Norton and replace it. I like NOD32 Antivirus (commercial) or

Avast Free. Then you will be able to start the Windows Firewall.

you need to download and run the uninstaller from NORTON web site.

install a different virus program and then you should be able to activate the firewall.

I know this is a little old, but just in case you still monitor it....it's

probably because the Firewall service has been set to Disabled that it won't

start.

Open Control Panel, Admin Tools and the Services. Scroll to Windows Firewall

Service and see if it's set to Auto start. If not, dbl-clk the service or

right click and elect Properties, then in the "Startup Type" dropdown list,

select Automatic.

Now click Start the Service and see what happens.
