Guest Nikilet Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I recently installed BitDefender and thought I was really going to like it. I'm starting to have a few qualms. First, I have used SpywareBlaster for years. Those at BitDefender advised me to uninstall it and I did. I have the paid versions of both Spyware Doctor and SpySweeper. After installing BitDefender's Internet Security 2008, I did not have either of those programs run at startup, but I intended to start them and run scans weekly or so. BitDefender advised me that even though I don't have them running they can still cause conflicts so I uninstalled them. Next, I discovered that if you have to do a System Restore, when you get back up and running BitDefender is not. Something in the restore process corrupts files and you have to uninstall and reinstall the program, even though it was running fine at the date of the restore chosen. I also discovered that you can not use your inbox message rules with BitDefender's Antispam enabled. Question: I'd like to know what this forum thinks about BitDefender's stand on SpywareBlaster, Spyware Doctor and SpySweeper. Thanks. Quote

Guest Nikilet Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 This link has to do with anti virus protection. What I'm asking about are the anti spyware applications I mentioned. If this is true about the anti virus, then I am beginning to wonder why I purchased this program at all. Is their firewall any good?
