Because if you do not - view and read would be considered the same thing. And in order to change the contents of a document - one must be able to open it. Guest Phil Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Thanks for the reply Basically I want IT Support to be able to traverse through the folder structure and amend the access permissions for users (in the Security tab) on files and folders without being able to open any documents, I have tried setting this in Special Permissions but they can only change peoples permissions if they have Read access aswell. I hope that makes more sense.
