Guest deacon Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 recently had a swarm of trojans and virii on my computer due to a friend 'playing' around. i've since removed all of that software but have lost my shift key and control key functions. i have used a keymapper and found out that when i press the shift key on either side the computer recognizes it being pressed as well as the control key simultaneously. i've lost the ability to capitalize anything without hitting the caps lock and i can not add type anything requiring the shift key to be used such as an exclaimation mark or a question mark. i think it may be a registry issue but i have reverted back a couple saves on my box and it has not changed the issue. any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my only computer and i start a literature class in a couple days lol. First try another keyboard. Secondly, you did not have "virii" on your computer. That is a made-up word that is meaningless because the plural of virus is viruses. http://homepages.tesco.net/~J.deBoynePolla...l-of-virus.html http://linuxmafia.com/~rick/faq/plural-of-virus.html -- Dave http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html Multi-AV - http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/dl/35905.asp Quote
