Guest Patty Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I'm not a MVP or anything here but I was having the same problem. I mistakenly posted the same question in the WindowsXP.public.general forum but they were very helpful to me and I don't get the pop-ups anymore. They gave me links to free versions of "a-squared Free" and "Malwarebytes". I ran both programs and don't get the annoying ficticious pop-ups anymore. I'm not very computer literate and don't know how to post a link but if you're interested still, the links are in the above newsgroup (windowsxp.public.general) and the topic is "Viruses". You can do a search unless one of the wonderful MVP's happen to come along and post the link here for you.
