Virus Scanning - Write Only Scanning

Recommended Posts

Posted

We have a Windows 2003 Server that is running Oracle, performing database

replication and is used as an image file repository - over 1 terabyte. Virus

scanning is enabled to both scan on reading and writing. I am trying to

improve performance and believe the scan on reads is really not needed since

scanning is done on all writes...

What are the opinions or best practices on this subject?

Reads and Writes.

Reason:

A new sig. may be generated for something that was unknown previously.
