Anyone providing a link to a non-vendors site with a direct download should not be trusted, the vendors sites are the safest place to download their application. No person of sound mind would download files from a hack site that requires a password to access the unknown files when they are available directly from the vendors. Now, to address your trolling - I don't advocate that you listen to me about the quality or reputation of ANY website, you should be smart enough to judge them on your own, after YOUR OWN research. I list sites that I trust, suggest downloads from them because "I" trust them, and it's a simple thing - check BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD. Guest Maurice N ~ MVP Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Hello VJS, The malware "Antivirus 2009" can be in different forms and mix of crudware. You most likely have to run a series of tools to remove all of it and it's companions. A few preliminaries, plus I would urge you to get guided assitance at one of the ant-malware forums noted below. Use Windows' Disk Cleanup to delete all temporary files. Download & save Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe or http://malwarebytes.gt500.org/mbam.jsp Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL Scan, then click Scan. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note) The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM. Copy & Paste the entire report in a new reply as soon as it has finished. Extra Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. MBAM is an excellent first-line program to use and keep. However, you do need to run other tools to insure all crudware is gone.
