my "c" drive isn't listed in "MY COMPUTER "anymore.

its in SYSTEM DEVICES.

everything seems to be working ok.

I had a flurry of viruses a month or so ago.

cleaned all that out,...I hope.

I use AUSLOGICS disk defrag ,it's listed there.

I still like to use windows defrag now and again.

I'm using XP 64.

Any suggestions

Start

Run

"diskmgmt.msc" (no quotes)

Enter/Okay

Does the drive appear to have a letter in there? If not assign it to C:

drive.

You can also try going to...

Start

Run

"devmgmt.msc"

Enter

Okay

Right click on the computer name

Scan for hardware changes - it might take a bit.

If either works (or doesn't) then let us know which worked or what else

you've tried.

i did a defrag on both, checked for errors on both while active and during

the boot

sys restore was turned off, turned back on

but alas still an invisible drive in"MY COMPUTER"

Let's see if it is hidden...

http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c...wertoySetup.exe

Install.

Expand My Computer

It is under Drives.

Check the drive letters.

Apply.

It may need a reboot.

Open "Hide these specified drives in My Computer"

Set to disabled

Click Okay

Whew! I'm glad that it finally worked for you. I'm a bit of a sadistic

fellow and so I usually attack the problems that don't have the obvious

solutions. (Thus the quote in my signature is almost always one from

Sherlock Holmes.) Sometimes I'll even attempt to recreate the problems on my

own systems just so I can figure out a fix. In this case I wasn't

willing/wanting to find and install a copy of your malware but I probably

would have if the next couple of shots hadn't helped.

Anyhow, glad it is working and there are lots of people better than I. style_emoticons/ Or

so I let 'em think. <VBG>
