Guest Didier Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Hello, I tried to change a services DACL on Windows 2003 .... now I locked myself out of the service because the DACL was reset. Now when I use: "sc sdshow tomcatform" I get the following output: [sC] OpenService FAILED 5: Access is denied. I'm not able able to start stop the service as I get "access denied" ... Whatever I try I'm not able to reset the DACL to the default as I keep getting "access denied" messages. I tried to do the following without success: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926639/?sd=RMVP&fr=1 Can someone tell me how can I restore the default DACL on this service? Thank you very much!!!! Guest Didier Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Re: URGENT: sc sdset myservice - now I locked myself out ... "SC O Ok course not ... ;-) sorry! I tried so many sc combinations and I was so in hurry that I didn't noticed where the real problem was. I was logged on via rdp on the server and I was not able to get an interactive cmd via the remote desktop client. When I logged on to the physical console and used "at XX:XX /interactive cmd" it worked and finally I was able to fix it with the "sc sdset ..." commands. I've even had to do that when a particular key combo won't work remotely (i.e., I had to use the console's keyboard, like for a Sun host). Quote
