Guest bredelet Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I would like to know if Windows XP and Vista clients can connect to a non-Microsoft Samba server with a blank password. The server holds the users in LDAP. This document indicates that the users cannot log in as network users in that case: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library...57059.aspx#ECAA However I do not know if that applies to mapping drives as well. Guest S. Pidgorny Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 You should be able to log on to the Samba resource with blank password - the restriction you're referring to is for network access _to_ Windows. -- Svyatoslav Pidgorny, MCSE, RHCE -= F1 is the key =- http://sl.mvps.org http://msmvps.com/blogs/sp bredelet wrote:<span style="color:blue"> > I would like to know if Windows XP and Vista clients can connect to a > non-Microsoft Samba server with a blank password.
