Guest TKE402 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Hi, I have several MS Access DB's that are in a folder that is Read/Execute for Authenticated users. No one can open the DBs. If I change the permissions to Read/Write/Execute than it works because the DB lock file needs to be written to the folder that the DB is located. Is there anyway around this? I do not want the users to have read, write, execute to that folder. All they need is read and execute. Thanks, TKE402 Quote

In the future, please don't multipost - if you need to post to multiple groups, it's best to crosspost instead, by posting a single message to a handful of relevant groups (separate the NG names with commas) so that everyone can follow the thread. Multiposting wastes everyone's time, including yours, and may lead to your actually getting less help rather than more. See http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm Quote
Guest S. Pidgorny Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Ask users to copy the database to the local drive and open from there. Try Access groups, too. -- Svyatoslav Pidgorny, MCSE, RHCE -= F1 is the key =- http://sl.mvps.org http://msmvps.com/blogs/sp TKE402 wrote:<span style="color:blue"> > Hi, > > I have several MS Access DB's that are in a folder that is Read/Execute for > Authenticated users.
