Guest scr621 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Whilst trying to make notepad++ the default notepad I tinkered with the permissions. I changed the settings so that any user listed had full control over my PC. Now I want to change them back & only allow the Administrator to have full access. How do I do this please? -- scr621 Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. Guest Salvador Manaois III Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Use ICACLS to reset the permission. It is a command-line tool that displays or modifies discretionary access control lists (DACLs) on specified files, and applies stored DACLs to files in specified directories. The following links should provide insightful info regarding the usage of this tool: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753525.aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc138006.aspx -- Salvador Manaois III MCSE MCSA CEH MCITP | Enterprise/Server Admin Bytes & Badz : http://badzmanaois.blogspot.com "scr621" wrote: <span style="color:blue"> > > Whilst trying to make notepad++ the default notepad I tinkered with the > permissions. > I changed the settings so that any user listed had full control over my > PC.
