(copied from KB929833) Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. Type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. === Don't know if it will help or not. Guest FromTheRafters Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I don't know for sure, but I have heard that SFC may retrograde your patch level by replacing older versions from cab files if it hasn't properly tracked your updates. You may want to do updates again just to be sure.
