Mass deletion notification

I am looking for software that would alert of mass deletion of file and

folders on our network servers or file server. Do you have any suggestions?

If this is windows server there are all kinds of auditing options in place in

Group Policy. But if you are worried about mass deletions of files and

folders by a human attacker I'd first focus on assuring file and folder

permissions are properly set.
