Guest p23185 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Does anyone know where I can change the password from "password" (default) to one of my own choosing? I used help and it told me to use 'run' and type 'secpol.msc'. When I do that I get the red x that says Windows cannot find secpol.msc. So I did an advanced search under the C: drive for this file and the is none, but it does find this - -'x86_microsoft-windows-help-secpol_'- [long numbers here]ending in -'ce.manifest'- -- p23185 Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com Quote

And before you shoot yourself in the foot, I suggest that you create a second user/admin account, which can be done of off Control Panel/Admin Tools/Users where you can create a new a account or change the password of a an existing account. You might want to activate this account as a back-up too, so that you have something to login with as admin for an emergence. <http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-windows-vista/> Quote
