Thanks for any help.</span> I am having the same problem with Vista Business, SP1. I looked into quite a number of newsgroups including MS TechNet and MS online Help. All solutions explained there do not help. To make things simple, I deleted every recovery certificate from my computer (it is in a network domain), and our domain-wide rule is set to "no recovery agent necessary". I also created new certificates, both for EFS and for EFS agent recovery. Whatever I try, the problem remains. By the way: It worked fine about a year ago but I did not try to encrypt new files and directories since then. Now, every attempt to encrypt a directory, yields the above error message. I hesitate to say that, but it looks like a bug in the system, possilby caused by a service pack. Any ideas or similar experiences? -- kdn Quote
