Guest ~BD~ Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 This is NOT SPAM! This is a new product which makes strong claims - has anyone made an independent assessment yet? If so, what is the verdict? Thoughts welcomed. Dave "From Spyware to cookies to the baddest of the bad Viruses, Exterminate will find and EXTERMINATE them all. Not only does it identify hundreds of millions of different malware, but our scanning technology performs behavior analysis in order to detect many of the more sneaky and malicious malware. Exterminate goes beyond typical anti malware solutions using sophisticated heuristics and behavior analysis to achieve industry leading detection rates. Exterminate categorizes each threat, so you can accurately and easily assess the danger that malware poses to you and your PC." http://pcpitstop.com/store/exterminate.asp Quote

Some would appreciate it if you do so. Quote

Here is a synopsis of the results:- Full Scan Sun Dec 7 15:49:05 UTC 2008Scanning Processes... Scanning Files... Scanning the registry... Scanning for Cookies... Scan Complete Found:2 2124.24 seconds No High and Medium Threats Found Unlike the larger threats on the previous page, Exterminate identifies other minor risks and annoyances. Many other products attempt to portray these files are more malicious than they really are. Normally, these files do not represent a threat to the security of your computer, but it is good practice to keep them off your PC. Furthermore, if your PC has a nagging problem, we also recommend to remove these files as part of the diagnostic process. If you would like these files removed, check the box below. Is it better than Malware > bytes and Super Anti Spyware, equal to, or not as good as?</span> -- My opinion? I have absolutely no idea how good/bad the product is - which is why I asked here! I use Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware already - maybe that is why the'Exterminate' facility found very little on my PC. My take is that PC Pitstop is a bonio fido operation (albeit now very commercial) and would probably not promote a scam product. I'm not really sure how one can really assess the viability of this product - but I'm sure some of the gurus here will be able to do so. Awaiting comment from the wise! Dave Quote
