To save others reading here simply wondering., the approximate translation

of Mr Komar's comment is:-

This is not the type of answer might expect to receive from the top man of a

major commercial operation, viz:

Actually, if you used a normal browser, you would see that there is no error

I feel that my reputation is safe,

I feel that our customers can easily distinguish between a competent

So - I wonder where in the world you are today Mr Komar (your message timed

at 0916 GMT - somewhat earlier in Canada?)

 

Perhaps, as a competent professional, you can explain why the error was/is

noticed when using Firefox 3.0.4. I am uncertain why you said "if you used

a normal browser" - surely many folk now use Firefox, don't they? Is it not

a normal browser?

 

I appreciate that Mozilla might be at fault, so have submitted an error

report accordingly [successfully Transmitted Report RMO12289055928792]

Should there be an error at their end, I'm sure they will correct it. I'll

let you know. I'm a little surprised though, that "as a competent

professional", you had not checked your own web site using Firefox.

 

You have further confused me. How would I ever come into contact with your

customers (so that they may have to distinguish between us?)

I was going to contact one of them, but you don't seem to have any! See

I regret to advise that I've heard nothing from Mozilla.

 

You have still not advised what you meant by Firefox not being a

'normal' browser.

 

Perhaps someone in these groups who is knowledgeable in these matters

could comment as to why your web site appears correctly when viewed

with IE7 but has the 'error' when viewed with Firefox.

More than likely something in the html code is triggering IE's Quirks

mode where it ignores and continues to operate on errors unlike many

more advanced browsers. Believe FireFox, not IE if you're interested in

the maximum number of browsers being able to read the code. IE can

accept some pretty sloppy stuff; whether that's good or bad is debatable

and has strong camps on both sides. The biggest downside if things that

work only in IE because of the sloppy coding in the web pages. FF has a

Quirks mode too but it's not as easy to turn on. For more detail, look

it up on google or your fav search engine.
