What, exactly, is a 'normal' browser?

So - I wonder where in the world you are today Mr Komar (your message

timed

at 0916 GMT - somewhat earlier in Canada?)

Perhaps, as a competent professional, you can explain why the error

was/is

noticed when using Firefox 3.0.4. I am uncertain why you said "if you

used

a normal browser" - surely many folk now use Firefox, don't they? Is it

not

a normal browser?

I appreciate that Mozilla might be at fault, so have submitted an

error

report accordingly [successfully Transmitted Report RMO12289055928792]

Should there be an error at their end, I'm sure they will correct it.

I'll

let you know. I'm a little surprised though, that "as a competent

professional", you had not checked your own web site using Firefox.

You have further confused me. How would I ever come into contact with

your

customers (so that they may have to distinguish between us?)

I was going to contact one of them, but you don't seem to have any!

On this page http://www.identit.ca/events.html you will note that the

of being at the bottom as it is on other pages on your site.

Perhaps, as supposedly an IT professional, you should put your own house

You've been told before:

1. Your comments about our web site don't matter, we don't care.

2. This is not the correct forum to be discussing this even assuming point

#1 wasn't the case, which it most certainly is.

Some things are a matter of personal judgement, Mr Lipman.

IMO, good people here do NOT answer queries thus:-

The mere fact that folk chose to respond to queries from the thousands

of users of Microsoft products does not, necessarily, mean that they are

good guys. Good guys have absolutely nothing to fear from me and/or my

posts.

The bad guys always make mistakes!

My post subject question here in this thread has not been answered, nor

has my original query regarding the French language appearing in message

I started this thread with this question to you Mr Komar:-

"So - I wonder where in the world you are today Mr Komar (your message

timed at 0916 GMT - somewhat earlier in Canada?)"

You declined to answer what I consider to be a reasonable and civil

query. That is your prerogative, of course.

It is noted, however, that your post today is similarly timed, thus: 11

December 2008 09:45 GMT

Another VERY early start to your day if, indeed, in Canada ............

but you could, of course, be anwhere in the world quite legitimately.

On the other hand, you may not be whom you say you are. Perhaps the

security services will pay you a visit just as they did Peter Foldes.

I don't expect 'warmth' as you put it David H Lipman - I seek only the

truth.

I am asking questions - in Security newsgroups - which may have

implications for the security of our respective nations, not just

computers. This you have totally failed to grasp. I doubt if you would

recognise a suicide bomber if he/she were to jump into your vehicle with

a gun in his/her hand - I hope, of course, that never happens to you

............ but it could.

Just try and think outside of the box for a change. Please.

Off your medications a lot, I see.

What has a computer security newsgroup (hosted by a company that markets

computer programs) got to do with the security of nations?

No! Don't even answer the question. It was rhetorical in nature.

I don't even want to know how you can justify posting your nonsense here

where it doesn't belong.

You must be a very lonely person (caused by your own doing) if you think

that just because someone answers your drivel that they are your friend

and buddy.

To save others reading here simply wondering., the approximate

translation

of Mr Komar's comment is:-

"Please crawl again in the hole that you came from. Thank you"

This is not the type of answer one might expect to receive from the top

man of a

major commercial operation, viz:

Brian Komar - President

Brian Komar is the president of IdentIT Inc., a consulting firm

specializing

in Public Key Infrastructure design and implementation and identity

integration solutions. Brian partners with Microsoft on several

ventures,

authoring material for Microsoft's Prescriptive Architecture Guides,

writing

PKI white papers for Microsoft's Security team, and working as a

principal

consultant for the Microsoft Center of Excellence enterprise PKI design

engagements.

Brian is a frequent speaker at IT industry conferences such as Microsoft

Tech.Ed, Microsoft IT Forum, and Windows IT Pro Magazine Connections.

Paul Adare - Chief Technology Officer

Paul Adare, the Chief Technology Officer of IdentIT Inc., is a security

consultant specializing in Identity Management, Rights Management, and

Public Key Infrastructure deployments. Paul has a wide ranging and

varied

background including the whole gamut of Microsoft technologies, Lotus

Notes,

Sun Microsystems, IBM AIX, and various flavours of UNIX and Linux.

Over the many years that Paul has been involved with computer systems

and

security, he has held many different roles including technical training

(Microsoft Certified Trainer, Lotus Notes Certified Trainer, Sun

Microsystems Certified Trainer), consulting (Microsoft, Lotus Notes,

Sun,

IBM, Security, Identity Management, Rights Management, PKI), subject

matter

expert for Microsoft Learning Products, support and help desk roles

among

others. Paul has been involved with Microsoft's Identity Management

platform

since he worked as a subject matter expert on the Microsoft Learning

Product

Course 2062, Implementing Microsoft Metadirectory Services.

Paul has been the Principal Consultant on a number of enterprise PKI and

RMS

deployments for large financial services customers in the US and Canada.

In

addition, Paul is a Microsoft MVP for Virtual PC and Virtual Server.

Well, that is what is says here http://www.identit.ca/management.html

I don't know them personaly however I read the usenet groups on reuglar basis.

These people provide here very valuable advices and for free.

Also one of the best book I read on PKI was written by Brian Komar. This book is

a very good combination of theortical and practical aspects of PKI and I would

say a must read for everyone working with Microsoft implementation of PKI.

To sum this up, http://www.identit.ca/management.html is describing these people

well.

Thank you for your post Martin.

I have no doubt that Mr Brian Komar is 'real'.

One can find detail here

http://www.informit.com/authors/bio.aspx?a...65-65483B38D401

and here http://www.tec2009.com/vegas/agenda/direct...peaker_bios.php

(he looks like a nice chap!)

There's more here

http://www.informit.com/authors/bio.aspx?a...65-65483B38D401

I'm sure others will notice the similarity in name of 'identit' and

'informit' - coincidental? Perhaps.

These web sites say that Mr Komar lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Mr Komar posting here, the President of Identit, has his office in

Burlington, Ontario http://www.identit.ca/contact.html

Google maps tells me it's 2176 km by car from one location to the other,

a 21 hour drive and no doubt some hours by plane!

I hope some reading here will forgive my scepticism in thinking

something here does not ring true.

Once again there may be a simple explanation. I'm all ears!

Worse than a "basket case" !

The follwoing posted by BoaterDave is a threat of LE action without basis and admission to

have done likewise with Peter Foldes...

security services will pay you a visit just as they did Peter Foldes."

You are one seriously demented and disturbed individual.

I'd strongly suggest that you consider what we do for a living and then

consider that our contacts with various security services around the world

are likely closer than yours. You want to watch who you threaten you dirt

bag.

You are a complete and utter waste of space.
