Guest spud Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I find that Explorer hangs several times a day since I recently updated the security fix. Anyone else with this problem? Quote

If you're referring to a security update automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update, open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features Top left of the window, click the "View installed updates" link. IE has all of HTML and Dynamic HTML and other protocols (such as ftp) and much more that the Windows Explorer does not have. Most of that is in SHDocVw.dll and most of the shell, which is the Windows API stuff that the Windows Explorer does, is in a different dll. One thing they have in common is that enumeration of shell windows does provide IE windows. Quote

There are other possible explanations for why they might be restarted at the same time. You will likely want to make a final comment so go ahead. Quote
