It seems from the reports that I read that someone called Christopher Butts was involved in the accident. If that was not you, I feel it in poor taste to use his name as you do. If you are blessed with skills that you can use to help ordinary folk with their computer problems, I don't understand why don't simply re-invent yourself rather than continue to engage in battles with other folk posting here. Guest The Real Truth MVP Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I have said many times that I know him and he is not me but the trolls choose to ignore that part. He has told me that David Lipman and PA Bear and others have sent emails and made phone calls to NASA JPL and Lockheed in an attempt to get him fired. Numerous emails at that. JPL has fired two people already for using their resources to give out info on him which is a security violation and that even though it has been a few years they are still looking for a third person. David Lipman has verbally threatened him in a recorded phone call, I am assuming it was him because all he can tell me was that it was traced to New Jersey so they are watching his a$$. Everybody here thinks he is some GOD. I wish I still had a copy of the email PA Bear sent trying to tout his MVP status like it really means something. I will ask Chris for a copy and post it here. Guest db ´¯`·.. > Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 from what I gathered and reviewed, people did try to have pcb's isp remove his site and ban him as well. however, he provided proof and prevailed. it is also my understanding that his accuser's were not as fortunate as pcb. one of which had to move his site to another country. however, all of the above is history. but the sore losers, continue to re hash a closed issue. I say close, because it is "legally" closed. ------------- in regards to the ms-mvp award, it really makes no difference whether or not there is any validity to pcb. anything to do with ms mvp is the responsibility of the paid employees of Microsoft, that oversee the program and assure its integrity. it might be reasonable to believe that after many years and much whining by ms mvp's about pcb, the ms mvp administrators would have intervened, including blocking pcb's ip. in my opinion, pcb has provided clear and concise information towards resolving issues posted and has done so with respect to the o.p. it is our unfortunate position to see trolls and unprofessional ms mvp's who undermine the threads with controversy and derogatory remarks. --------------------- as you may have also noticed at the link provided, I am planning on documenting unprofessional behaviors by ms mvp's. it is a project in its infancy at this time. deviations from professional standards by those who are "most valuable" will be documented by me, preserved and crawled for future reference. the validation for such a site is simple. if the ms mvp program cannot provide an assurance of quality and professionalism as they preach, then perhaps it is time that we take initiative. if I recall, a few years ago Microsoft had a campaign to research the internet worldwide and clean up bad publicity about the ms mvp program. this was a cost that Microsoft should not have had to bear. Microsoft could have saved much time and money if their paid executives with collegiate educations simply realized that bad publicity is the result of bad leadership. ---------- bd, I'm glad to know you are also a former veteran. we have something in common and values that non vets cannot comprehend. your objectivity is sincerely appreciated. -- db·´¯`·...¸><)))º> DatabaseBen, Retired Professional - Systems Analyst - Database Developer - Accountancy - Veteran of the Armed Forces "share the nirvana" - dbZen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > "~BD~" <~BD~@nomail.afraid.com> wrote in message news:gn6uv6$otr$1@reader.motzarella.org... > > " db ´¯`·.. ><)))º>` .. ." <databaseben at hotmail dot com> wrote in message > news:EC818716-3A3B-4289-9550-7FC8E15B196B@microsoft.com... >> you can provide me with >> the link of the site you >> are referring to? >> >> -- >> >> db·´¯`·...¸><)))º> >> DatabaseBen, Retired Professional >> - Systems Analyst >> - Database Developer >> - Accountancy >> - Veteran of the Armed Forces > > > He/she does, indeed say that he/she is a Microsoft MVP - a term widely regarded as applying to those singled out by Microsoft in > accordance with the link posted by Andrew. His hosting company does not validate complaints, the will only take action to remove a site by court order. So, he's got a great hosting company that clearly only requires the "I'm doing nothing wrong" email from their customers, and then it's up to the wronged parties to Sue in court in order to prove their claim. The hosting company has clearly stated that once PCButts "Disputes" the claims against him, they will take no additional action until presented with a court order. So, this means that Butts has not proven anything, has not Won, is still the same person that hosted filthy pornographic materials on is site and posted links to them all over Usenet groups, even setup a domain name in my honor as he's stalked me around usenet. So, in 100% factual summary - he has not provided proof of anything. Additionally, in 100% factual, vendors have posted to Usenet ordering him to remove their tools from his site because they have not authorized him as a mirror and he violates the mirror rules for their products. Currently some of Butts tools contain copyrighted works that he does not have the copyright too, and some of them block reputable anti-malware sites without without warning the users. You really should do a full review of his history. -- - Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum. - Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist" spam999free@rrohio.com (remove 999 for proper email address) Quote

The fact is that your posting IP and name have been linked back to JPL by headers as you've posted from JPL using your external Usenet account. It was very easy to keep track of headers as you posted from multiple locations, under multiple names, even impersonating David, myself and many others, and then you've screwed up and posted in support of your tools, that you pirated from others, and didn't know that your headers exposed you again. It started when Butts plagiaried Stuart Saunder's RogueFix which Butts called SuperFix. It was then renamed SpyErase. Stuart filed a DMCA and eventually the host provider forced him to remove it from the web site. However Butt's just renamed SpyErase to Remove-It and it started the whole process over again. This time the host provider dindicated a court order would be needed. Becuase I helped Stuart, Butts then committed fraud and perjury. He then used that Gmail account to commit fraud by fileing a fraudelent DMCA claim on my friend's web site IK-CS.Com because it hosted my Multi-AV Scanning Tool. In that claim he even laid the claim to the GNU Free licensed WGET utility. Guest The Real Truth MVP Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I have to piggyback on your posts DB because SBC filters/Blocks posts made by Leythos and I do not see them unless quoted. All US hosting company are required by law to comply with the DMCA. They don't protect me or anyone else. When a complaint is filed the website is immediately shutdown. Shutdown first ask questions later. They all follow that. My case was no different except the fact that I knew exactly when it happened because I was on it. The only way they turned it back on was when I removed the link to download the software. That is the law. I was then required to file an answer to the complaint and provide proof of ownership of the software in question which I did. Once I removed the link my ISP then contacted the lying troll\complainant and informed them that the link has been removed, that I have disputed their claim and that they have 14 days to formally file a complaint and to provide proof of an infringement. If nothing is done in that 2 week period the it is closed. They are then required to produce a court order to enforce their complaint. If the complainant give my ISP proof then it is examined by the legal team at my ISP and a determination is made on who is right. If no determination can be made then they require a court order. After 14 days the takedown is lifted. In my case my site was down for less then an hour and went unnoticed because I removed the link. I provided proof, they tried, I won. The second DMCA filed on me they didn't even bother to provide proof. The third time my ISP knew it was just harassment and did nothing. Now anyone who tries will get nowhere. Ask David how come he was not able to provide proof that his stolen software was actually his and save his friends website like I was able to do with mine. That BS excuse he gave about not being a citizen is just that--BS. He knows he stole it he also knew the a DMCA is a USA law so he put his stolen Multi-avi up on a foreign site where it will be safe. So, again, the company follows a simple set of rules: 1) Allow anyone to host anything 2) If a complaint is made against a site owner, ask site owner if they want to dispute complaint 3) If site owner disputes complaint, take no action without a court order. > you should read the terms > and conditions. I clearly have read them, event talked with the company representatives - you should try it yourself. > many things that are considered > illegal or offensive have lone been > determined many years ago > by courts already, > > thus your belief that court > orders are necessary to act > in accordance with the law > is unfounded. Nope, that's not true - unless it crosses previously defined legal boundaries, like Child Porn, many filthy and pornographically offensive materials can remain on a site. > further, the companies are > legally bound to report illegal > information to the feds. Only IF they know it to be illegal. > again, no court order is > required to mandate each > occurrence and violation. No, except that this hosting provide requires one in order to take action. > > ----------------------- > > you seem to be amicable > to child molesting. Ah, now you're trolling and making an ass of yourself. > therefore, I encourage you > to post child porn and lets > see if a court order is required > to remove your offensive > garbage from the servers > and lets see if your personal > data is kept confidential from > the feds. And now your trolling for sure. > you must be living and posting > from the Netherlands. And again. -- - Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum. - Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist" spam999free@rrohio.com (remove 999 for proper email address) Quote
