Guest steve oates Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I've installed windows defender, but the service won't start up. I get get the error message :- "The Windows Defender service terminated with the following error: The signature of the certificate can not be verified." I noticed that when I ran the msi file it complained about the certificate saying that the manufacturer was unknown?, but I got it from the Microsoft website. Anyone know how to fix it? Quote
Guest PA Bear [MS MVP] Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1) when posting to this newsgroup. Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender support and comments. This is not one of them. See http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/s...ps/default.mspx TIP: Access these newsgroups using your default newsreader, not your browser. See instructions on above page. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ steve oates wrote:<span style="color:blue"> > I've installed windows defender, but the service won't start up.
