By "mail" do you mean a "post" through a google groups interface to

usenet?

Depends, yours would be easy whereas mine would be more difficult. Some

may be impossible.

Posting with a real address is frowned upon because it feeds the worms

(and the spammers). My real e-mail address would not be harvested from

the headers of my post nor from the body of a reply to my post as yours

(if that is real) appears to avail below.

You don't send e-mail to Google Groups. You submit posts to them.

E-mail uses a completely different communications protocol.

Did you look at their post to see if they gave out an e-mail address?

Does it look like a valid e-mail address? Or is it a bogus one? Or

did they munge it? No one can tell without seeing an exhibit of a

particular post to which you refer but don't mention.

There are private and public Google Groups. Private Google Groups are

known only to Google's server. They are not distributed via NNTP

(Network News Transfer Protocol) to other newsgroups servers. They are

more like forums. Public Google Groups are peered from and to other

NNTP servers and are part of Usenet (aka newsgroups).

Since you didn't identify "that Google Group", no one knows which one

you are asking about. If it is a private Google Group, you might have

to ask permission to join it.
