lsass.exe system error - the specified domain name did not exist.

One of the workstations on my network booted up today with the following

message before the login box came up:

lsass.exe system error - the specified domain name did not exist.

Then it reboots and repeats this loop. This workstation (as well as every

other workstation on my network) has updated virus scanning software and

recent windows updates.

I tried using the repair tool on the XP pro disc and the same error comes up

during the repair. Any ideas on how to fix this problem without the ability

to run windows (safe mode or otherwise)?

Unfortunately, i have looked through those search results before I posted

here and none of them resolved my issue... aside from basically telling me

that i have to reformat the hard drive and that i'm "SOL." Those posts were

from 2002-2005 and there had been a bug fix released by microsoft for this

issue which, as I stated, is on this machine since i'm good about keeping up

with my windows updates.

Any other ideas?

Next time, tell people what you've done so they don't waste their time.

Excuse me. i didn't know that i should have told you in the post that i did

a google search for the problem. besides, i'm sure it took you a lot of your

precious time to post a google search result link. you're so helpful. i'm

sure your posts are of great value to this site.

Well, wouldn't one assume that the obvious was attempted (i.e. doing a google

search for already posted threads) before posting my own? I'm sorry for the

frustration and sarcasm, but i'm only responding to what i receive.

shall we start over? I sincerely would appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Perhaps their crystal balls are not working :-)

Believe it or not, but some posters do not know how to Google or do not

realise that they can search for help in Google - I didn't 10 years ago.

How would anybody know into which category you fall - hence the reference to

good posting - it saves time for those helping.

You have already lost one good helper - read the link then come back before

you alienate the rest.

Have you really read all 150,000 entries for 'lsass.exe system error' ?

Good luck

Actually no one can help since the most details are missing from your post. Post

with details and exact issues that are happening with Isaass.exe
