Guest Billybob Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 How do I get ride of AV360? I tried calling My anti-virus provider but they want me to pay $100 dollars for them to get rid of it. I don't really have the money right now so, I was wondering if there was a free removal tool to get rid of AV360? My current anti-virus program is Norton 360. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in Advance. Quote

Malwarebytes has developed a variety of tools that can identify and remove malicious software from your computer. When your computer becomes infected, Malwarebytes can provide the needed assistance to remove the infection and restore the machine back to optimum performance. You may download the free version here http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Good luck! -- Dave Quote

It is called "rogue" because it pretends to be A Good Guy but is really Evil. Do not pay them! See if there are specific removal steps here - Bleeping Computer removal how-to's - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum55.html or here - Malwarebytes malware removal guides - http://tinyurl.com/5xrpft These may work for you and all may be well. However, in many cases the computer will also be infected with Zlob and/or Vundo trojans and protected by a rootkit. These machines are extremely difficult to clean. If your machine is one of these cases, either get guided help at one of the specialty forums below OR back up your data and do a clean install of Windows. It is your choice. If you are unsure how to back up your data or how to do a clean install, you can take your machine to a local computer professional. I don't recommend using BigComputerStore/GeekSquad types of places. He is a plagiarist of other people's software, hosts pr0n on his website, and slanders good people when they try to defend themselves. His software will also prevent you from getting to legitimate malware-fighting websites. Follow the instructions I previously gave you.
