Guest Gunna Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Hey got a question regarding cert recovery. I had a user issue themselves a Code Signing cert via the Web interface. Everything was fine until he got a new PC. He tried to export the cetificate from the old PC but it doesnt happen, i believe it was not marked as exportable when generated. I have te certificate in my Certificate Services MMC in the Issued Certificates list. Is there a way I can get it from there for him? Quote
Guest Gunna Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I thought that. The person in question has a nubmer of excel 2007 spreadhseets with macros which he signed with a code signing cert from our PKI so the code would be accepted by other users. He changes PC's and now when making a change to the vb code on one of these spreadsheets he has problems. Here is what he tells me: "I have just changed computers and now I am not recognised as the certificate “ownerâ€Â. When I make a modification to one of my existing tools, upon saving the changes, the original certificate is removed" Is this occuring becuase its trying to resign the alterned document but the certificate is no longer on his PC so it gives him the problems he is writting about?
