AV white lists

Are there any AV white lists to submit software to? It seems like the AV

vendors are flagging more and more "regular" software as viruses these days.

Thanks.

I haven't seen the False Positive rate increase that dramatically.

From what/where do you derive "...AV vendors are flagging more and more "regular" software

as viruses these days." ?

When you find a "regular" software that some AV erroneously flags as

malware, submit it to them so that they can send you a new corrected

definitions file for that malware. They can then QC the new definition

and release it to the general public.

I heard that from the VirusTotal people as well. It sounds like each vendor

has to be contacted individually. Unfortunately some are less than

responsive.

Virus Total people ? Julio ?

Anyway that is true. You must contact each vendor about any False Positives their

respective products might declare.

Some are better than others but... You CAN get action. I know, I have done so on a few

occasions. But I have also had bad oocasions such as with Avast taking ~60 days to

correct a FP VBS:Zulu declared on some Microsoft web pages.
