Guest John Barnett MVP Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 It won't have anti virus protection by default, no. You will need to install a third party anti virus application. If you want something free then you could try the free version of AVG or Avast. The links other posters have provided refer to 'Morro' the replacement for OneCare which was a separate application from Microsoft. OneCare itself was never very popular, hence its swift removal. I haven't seen Morro so I can't comment, but I gather it will be free. Guest John Barnett MVP Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Sorry Dinesh, it was the 'they all work fine' that threw me. If it had said 'they all 'worked' fine then I would have understood that they were not all running on the same machine simultaneously. Running them all together would certainly have caused some fun:-) Thanks for clearing that up, my mistake. -- -- John Barnett MVP Windows XP Associate Expert Windows Desktop Experience Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org Web: http://www.silversurfer-guide.com The information in this mail/post is supplied "as is". Guest David Glienna Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Run the new FREE Virtual PC Version of XP (which comes with Windows 7 as of last week). When you shut down, all malware vanishes (unless you wanted to save it). - David "John Barnett MVP" <freelance@invalid.invalid> wrote in message news:OhzZfuAyJHA.1432@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl...<span style="color:blue"> > Sorry Dinesh, it was the 'they all work fine' that threw me. A beta will be available on April 30th. http://community.winsupersite.com/blogs/pa...-in-detail.aspx Quote
