Guest diane Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I have an two windows 2000 servers - 1 is a production and 1 is backup. When I switch over to the backup server, I take the prod one offline, change the server name and the ip address to the production one so I don't have to remap the the drives on the windows xp computers to the shared folder. (2000 server is a workgroup server). I have issues with slowness and data record locking errors in a software package. do I need to remap the drives even though the server name\share name is the same but the physical hardware is different?
