I believe in personal responsibility. Everyone is responsible for their own choices in life and should face the consequences for their own actions. A lot of people are not willing to take responsibility for their actions, and they all have their own excuses, Democrat and Republican. You say not to make it political, but it already is. You have singled out Republicans, but I’m sure there are a few Dems that would blame their vices on ‘God made me this way’. Even if they didn’t blame God, they would blame their parents, the school system, or Uncle Sam. It is not just a ‘Republican’ issue, and you can not say without a shadow of a doubt that no Democrat ever blamed anything in their lives on God.

The Pages were of legal consent age as well: 16 and above. The problem is, there is a separate law against relationships involving certain power dynamics such as Teacher-Student, Congressman-Page unless both parties are over 18.
