Guest Bill M Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 There is very simple yet compelling evidence that no gods exist except in man's imagination. Why is there NO objective verifiable evidence that ANY god has communicated and confirmed his existence to ANY of the sane six billion people on this earth? The Templeton Foundation recognized that God is a scientific hypothesis - by funding double-blind trials to test whether remote prayer would speed the recovery of heart patients. It didn't, although a control group who knew they had been prayed for tended to get worse. Despite such well-financed efforts, no OBJECTIVE VERIFIABLE EVIDENCE for God's existence has yet been obtained! Quote

These people here give every indication of being anti-theists, specifically anti-Christian/Hebrew God. They're obsessed with theology. And they hate being called the God-haters they exemplify because that label indicates that God does exist. I notice they exhibit no hatred of any 'gods' or adherents of religions other than the Hebrew God either. You never hear them cursing out the Wiccans, Hindus, Buddhists, Voudouins, Satanists, etc. NEVER. They try to use the Hebrew Scriptures (a bizarre and self-contradictory technique! ) to assert the Christian Scriptures are false. That really doesn't make sense until you realize that the Hebrew scripture's prophecies of God incarnating as the Saviour (which they work diligently and ineffectively to deny) is what really freaks them out. And the name that they try to convey themselves as - Intellectual Honesty - is so hypocritical. The vast majority admit that in common usage, the definition of atheist fits the usual dictionary definition, but they stubbornly insist they can redefine themselves. If that's what they want, they should contact the dictionaries' publishers and ask them to have the editors amend their work. And they will probably eventually do so; the meaning of words change over time; as of now, though, the standard definition of atheist, is not what they want it to be. Their hatred of God in Heaven who incarnated as Yeshuwa` The Messiah simply strengthens my faith, and has the same effect on many others, I suspect. When they start railing against belief in Allah, Shiva, Brahma, Satan, Buddha, the Goddess, etc., and calling that evil and insane, I might reconsider my opinion of their intent to simply wipe out belief in the God of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures. Oh, and I found out, don't call them children of the Devil - that really ticks them off, when they should just find that laughable - yet another bizarre and contradictory aspect of their atheism. Atheism deceives all its subjects. All atheists think in this deceptive manner. They think since they deny the existence of God, they cannot hate Him. But its really the other way around: they know He exists, that's why they hate Him. It is true that you cannot truly hate someone who does not exist. However atheists rationalize that the only existence of God is the "false god" professing Christians have devised and that's what they deny exists. It is true that false or nominal professing Christians can devise false gods of their imagination. However, the one and only true God nevertheless exists apart from any God of the imagination. It is this true God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth - the God that is not a god of the imagination - whose existence atheists also deny, and it is this true God that they as well as all unregenerate mankind HATE. Oh yea before I go take note, they always spell God with a lower case g even though to be grammatically correct always requires a capitalized G when spelling God. Of course they don't hate........of course......<snickers> Quote

Guest schill_dan@yahoo.com Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 There is no permanent underlying reality to the visual world... everything is surrounded by infinite space, which means that even the biggest star known to man in the universe becomes like a grain of sand, that doesn't even account for the infinite nature of space. Therefore, there is an infinite universe that is unseen, and in this universe there are unseen worlds. God operates in the unseen world(s). There is no room for God in the visual world, but there is infinite room for God in the unseen world. I'm sorry to say it Bill M, but you suck. You subcribed to the stupidest viewpoint ever thought of by man. Why then doesn't the visual world reveal the secrets of the unseen world? Why is it so well covered up? How come every aspect of the observable world can be analyzed scientifically or mathematically to the point where belief in the unseen is lost? Because that way the true motives and character of people can be revealed, because people would act a lot differently if they were fully conscious of the supernatural, and none of their behavior would be authentic. The only reason why you are on dry land right now is because I blew you out of the water. Don't ever insult people for believing in the supernatural. DS Quote

Of course. I would never post an estimate of the world's population without checking to see I was right to two significant figures. It only takes a few seconds. As the accepted best estimate is now nearer to 7 billion than 6 using a figure from the last millennium is simply wrong, even to one significant figure. > > There is NO world wide census. And there probably > are something in the neighborhood of > a half billion insane or mentally deranged people in the world. You have to keep up or else you look old and stupid if you give the wrong figure. Is that the impression you wish to give? The longer you quote an out of date figure the more you look like an old git who doesn't know what century we are in. The key thing to bear in mind is that the world population figure is going up faster than you can count so treating any figure as the answer is going to be wrong. 6.5 billion is close enough for a few months. As a rough guide add 100 million for every year since you last checked a reputable source and you shouldn't embarrass yourself too much. Half a billion people is not to be sniffed at, and to round them off as of being of no great significance does look just a tad arrogant. It does represent ten times more people than died during the second world war, about the same as the entire population of North America. -- Martin Willett http://mwillett.org/ Quote

Yeah its weird and an embassasmanet to some godless herretics like myself. > And they hate being called the God-haters they exemplify > because that label indicates that God does exist. > I notice they exhibit no hatred of any 'gods' or adherents of religions > other than the Hebrew God either. Which is just plain wrong - they should be against all gods equally - whether they are popular or extinct - real or imagined . Worshiping gods is always an error of judgenent and a failure of moral courage. That at least is my sincerely held belief. Mark. Quote

This is all so plainly obvious to anyone who can think for themselves. There cannot be evidence for something that never existed to begin with. >The Templeton Foundation recognized that God is a scientific hypothesis - by >funding double-blind trials to test whether remote prayer would speed the >recovery of heart patients. It didn't, although a control group who knew >they had been prayed for tended to get worse. Duh! Jesus promised that wherever two or more are gathered in his name, and ask for anything, it shall be granted to them. Millions gathered in Jesus' name when Pres Kennedy was asassinated and just as many millions gathered in Jesus' name when the last Pope was dying -- in both cases asking God to spare their (Kennedy or the Pope's) lives, YET JESUS' PROMISE DID NOT COME TRUE. Of course, a little bit of back tracking and double-talking was needed to gloss over this little error, simply by claiming that what Jesus "really meant" was that God would grant their wishes only if it was also in God's will to do so. So if your prayer request is granted, it is because of the miracle or prayer, but if the prayer request is not granted, it is because God wanted it that way. It a classic con-artist scam called the "heads I win; tails you lose" argument. Only the gullible and naive are stupid enough to buy into such nonsense. >Despite such well-financed efforts, no OBJECTIVE VERIFIABLE EVIDENCE for >God's existence has yet been obtained! I would like to see you support your statement that there is no OBJECTIVE VERIFIABLE EVIDENCE of God's existence. If you insist on this standard -- and I agree you should -- then you must meet this standard yourself. I do not expect a reply, as I already know that disproving God's existence is harder than proving His existence. James Quote
