I'm hearing nothing but bad things about the repugs, but meh, it's election time.

 

Can you guess which of the parties I listed are the mirror image of your republican party?

 

No I can't. I've never studied Aus. politics. I'm thinking maybe the Labor party.

It's the Liberal party. Go figure.

 

They usually have to get preferential help from the Nationals and Family First to topple Labor.

Voting is very close to being a complete waste of time in America, IMO. Just about the only real difference between 'Democrats' and 'Republicans' are gay marriage, abortion, and how best to defend the borders ... And there's not even a clear party message on any of those issues. Either way, these hot issues are mainly just vote fodder. Once politicians get into office, almost without exception, they don't produce many results, other than to continue filling their pockets. The whole system's corrupt. I say direct action through charities, other activist practices, and court cases are better than voting when it comes to improving the country.

 

 

What politician isn't a whore? John McCain was at least sort of respectable ... Until he started allowing himself to be associated with Falwell, whom he used to recognize as a nutjob. Obama and Guiliani are about the only current politicians from one of the big two parties that I can stomache.

I'll give ya that. Its become your 'identity' of sorts. No matter what your debating or discussing, as soon as you say something someone doesn't like you will be slammed with an anti-Islam comment. It shouldn't be a cross you have to carry into every thread.
