I use it to interact with people. Usually to unwind and have a good time. Although I don't mind a good debate either. One where all parties stick to topics at hand. And debate without making it personal on every other post from that point on. Pretty much this is the only place that I have found, where that can actually happen.

I feel the same way. Internet forums should not be used as anyone's personal support group or to replace real life friendships. However, friends and enemies are going to be made whether anyone likes it or not. There will always be people you will connect with and people who will rub you the wrong way (and vice versa). People and emotions go hand in hand.

Easiest question I have ever answered... the Internet should be as personal as you allow it to be.

 

If things are discovered about you... in all likelihood, you probably have nobody but yourself to blame.

 

If you don't want to be known as an individual on a forum, then have no individuality.. it is your choice.

Good for you. I come here for the serious debates and TJ for the friendly banter. Haven't been to TJ much lately and I am sure once the novelty wears off, my presence here will fade to a weekly or monthly basis. That is what usually happens, anyways.

I have never chatted online or made any attempt at realizing a relationship with random people. I'm somewhat anti-social. Not saying I enjoy long hours spent alone in a four cornered room. I have a good close circle of real friends I've known since I was a teenager. Not to say that people that utilize chatrooms and expend effort to meet people online don't have friends. Just sayin....... I don't seek out groups of new people to meet and become buddy-buddy with.

 

It's not even that I don't feel comfortable meeting new people, I just don't care to. Nine times outta ten, people suck. Thats whats great about bullshittin with you nimrods on this forum. It doesn't matter if you suck. Because it won't affect me either way.

I prefer to keep the shit I talk on the NET and my personal life completely separate. Don't want jackasses I meet online sending me X-mas cards and shit. Just thinking about it creeps me out.

 

I was kiddin around in my earlier post, but seriously I have no interest in chit-chatting with people that I don't know. You can chat with someone online for years and you still don't really know them at all.

 

 

...then again you can live with someone for years and not really know them.
