Guest Athena.. _ Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Okay, IE9 was unexpectedly installed on my desktop this week and I'm trying to see how to get the same productivity I had with IE8. I see a lot of questions asking how to change the default search provider but I don't see any at all about the loss of function that I see as the most important advance made a couple of versions ago: to rerun a search using a different provider. I do that quite freqently -- I search for something on the web, read a few entries then switch the provider to Amazon or eBay (or both in succession) to get an idea of prices. Or, I just want to see if I can get better results with a different provider. I can't figure out how to do that now; the URL of the search page is substituted for my search terms and I have to keep retyping my search criteria. Is there some way to add a separate search box (perhaps an add-in) or do I have to revert to IE8? And while I'm here, is there some reason that the "Add" button doesn't work on the provider bar?
