Office 2010 Pro 32-bit Service Pack 1 installation error

I attempted to update Office 2010 Pro (32-bit) via WindowsUpdate and Standalone on a Windows 7 (64-bit) system. I also have Visual Studio 2010 SP 1 and SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise as other major software packages loaded on my system.

I found the following error in the officesuitewwsp1-x-none_MSPLOG.LOG file:
