The 2008 Domain at my new location just upgraded to Windows 7, and I discovered that every one of the 800+ machines were clones. As in, No Sysprep, no SID change, nothing. Pop machine "A"s Hard drive in the Hard Drive copyer, make a dozen copies for room 1, install them and add to the domain. Time to upgrade room 2? Pop machine "G"s Hard Drive out (Machine "G" being in room 1) and copy it a couple dozen times, and so on. I know that this is NOT SUPPORTED BY MICORSOFT, but that argument isn't getting much traction with management. What are the errors that we will be seeing due to not sysprep-ing? I want to collect a list to bring to management to show them how many of our trouble tickets have this as the source. We need to do this right, but the higher ups claim we are "too busy".... probably because we aren't doing it right. Ammunition, please?
