Guest samsman Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I HAVE A VIRUS that has broken links to desktop and start menu icons. When I tried to restore the last date I was optioned was to the very date the virus appeared. This automatic restore point is an issue with 7. 7 was preloaded without a backup disk on my laptop at point of purchase and is a legit copy. My biggest problem is that every time I open a link on my desktop every icon both on desktop and startup menu takes on that prgamme so when I try to start another I get a flag program does not open because it was linked to last etc. It is a real pain in the butt. i used to have Windows vista but 7 has been great so far can anyone give me a solution for this. I have tried restoring several times run anti virus without success nothing seems to pick up this virus. It started around the time I downloaded AVG to boost my Malware bytes Adaware and CCleaner that had served me perfectly until then. It seams that when I deleted AVG because it directed me to buy a solution everytime I cleaned. I got fed up up deleted it them was left with this problem. Continue reading... Quote
