Computer crashes during Security Essentials or MSRT full scans .

Bonjour ~

Until recently, my computer and Security Essentials got along well together, but to my frustration that's no longer the case.

My desktop (Vista-home basic/32-bit) crashes 30 min. into a Full Scan when using either Security Essentials or Malicious Software Removal Tool. The Security Essentials Quick Scan reports 'nothing found'. Both, Security Essentials and MSRT, when I've attempted to do a Full Scan, scan too quickly (and crash too suddenly) for me to be positive about which file(s) are causing the computer to crash, except for the first part of the file, I saw: C:\Program Files\Java...

By the way, what is Java? (I just looked up my Java's file Properties, and was surprized at its size: 2959 files, 163 folders...)

( Lol...And I wasn't sure how to answer, "Beta", or "Not Beta" question, in order to post my question
