Guest ijosef Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I replaced the hard drive in a friend's Sony Vaio Laptop (Model VGN NW240F) and am trying to install Windows 7. Unfortunately she did not create any restore discs so I'm using a Windows 7 OEM disc and the laptop's OEM key. Unfortunately I've run into the common problem where the installation hangs up at "Completed Installation." I did a google search and found a bunch of solutions, but none of them worked for me. The BIOS is very basic and there are no updates from Sony, so I'm unable to disable USB drivers or make sure the HD controller is on ACHI (common solutions that have worked for others). There are no peripherals plugged into the laptop at all. Any help? I've been unable to do anything with it since I can't get past this issue. Continue reading... Quote
