Guest CRCollier Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I just re-imaged my Windows 7 64 bit machine. I am running Norton Internet Security suite. Each time I try to access a web address that has https:// I receive "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page". I have searched online for solutions and can't come up with something that works. These are the things I've tried: 1. Contacted Norton - they did a remote desktop session and told me it was an Internet Explorer issue. Also turned off Norton - no luck. 2. visited several Microsoft tech sites - modified advanced settings (activated all SSL and TLC), cleared cache/cookies/etc, re-installed IE 9, did online FIX-IT program and manual FIX-IT (manual fixit was not able to remove/find several .dlls. 3. Started the PC in SAFE MODE - everything worked FINE!!! I'm at a loss and don't know why I can't get anywhere. In addition, IE will not allow me to download files, even though Norton says they are OK to download. Any ideas? Continue reading... Quote
