Guest mzaeta Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 We recently begun updating IE8 to IE9 on all our Windows 7 computers through SCCM. We install it with no users logged in and the following options :/quiet /norestart /update-no. The installation goes through and sccm reports it as successful. This also works great when users with existing profiles logs in to a computer, but not when a user logs in for the first time. When a user logs in and creates a new profile, there is no Internet Explorer. You cant find it anywhere in all programs, but you do see it in program and features under windows features. If we log in with a admin account, the shortcut for IE is back and it works when the user logs in again. We also pu IE9 in our installation image that we deploy through the MDT, and it works when the user logs in for the first time. So the problem seems to be isolated to existing installations where we have updated IE8 to IE9. We can't see anything strange in the logs and haven't found any other solution than logging in as admin. Have anyone else seen this after update to IE9? Continue reading... Quote
