With nothing on the system prior, and knowledge that this combination usually works on Vista and 7, I have installed the following products: -MalwareBytes Antimalware -Spybot Search & Destroy -CCleaner -Microsoft Security Essentials The system receives updates via Microsoft Update (xp's name for Windows Update) with no troubles at all Attempting to update the Virus and Spyware definitions, I ran across a problem similar to most people I received error code 0x8024400a. Is there something I am forgetting to install? If I download the latest definitions using the link "https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/default.aspx" would the system recognize the fault and be repaired for the next time it updates? I've heard ActiveX has solved the issue before. Before I attempt it, I would like to know if this is a proper solution and which version of ActiveX would best suit XP.
