Updates on my system < sony vaio >

<em>I have an old laptop that has had many updates over the years somethings say this can not be removed ofcourse but their are others that show they can be removed, but<u>  CAN 

</u>these be removed without doing damage to my system? windows operating and internet explorer updates. some are dated back to 2004 & 2005  I want to do it safely.</em>
