Guest NewsBot Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I am running Windows XP Professional. About a week ago, system start up became very slow, about 10 minutes or so. Once started everything runs fine and shut down takes the usual amount of time. I ran a defrag on the hard drive and a disk clean, but the slow start up has not improved. I noticed that I have not received any updates in a while even though I have automatic updates turned on. I went to the update web site and tried to check for updates and got an error 0x80070424. I then tried to run MS Fixit which said it found an error, but could not correct it. I'm not sure what to do from here, so any help would be appreciated. View this thread Quote
