several windows updates get installed but reappear as ready to install.

I have tried the fix it tool that tells me windows update components need to be prepared and it tells me that it fixed it each time I have used it. This does not fix the problem.

 

I also chose the repair option for the .net V4 client but this did not fix the issue either.

 

I am running vista home premium 32 bit os.
