System image v Windows Backup

A few questions as to their uses and differences:

 

<span>(1)<span>   </span></span><span>Does a systems image include both (i) non-window /other program files, eg office 2010, skype program and other programs/apps I have downloaded and (ii) personal office docs?</span>

<span>(2)<span>   </span></span><span>Can I restore my laptop (if it stops working) if I saved the system image on several DVD disks? Will the restore wizard accept/recognise several dvds?</span>

<span>(3)<span>   </span></span><span>If I create a Windows Backup of my entire c drive (which contains all system files and personal files), can I use these to restore my laptop (if it stops working) – as in the case of a systems image?</span>
