For about the last week Security Essentials pre-release version 4.0.1540.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 shows "PC status: potentially unprotected, even after repeated quick scans and a full scan. The scans are all error-free. I always update the definitions

before starting the scan. I do not use any "cleaner" programs which are accused of wiping out the MSE log file. I have used MSE for many months, so there are no residual anti virus programs laying around.
